My Mission
Change is everywhere. As we all know, the market is challenging and businesses and individuals are facing huge life-impacting changes. Restructures and redundancies are rife. And all too often, we, as leaders aren’t always equipped with the necessary tools to navigate that change, be that from an organisational design point of view, from a culture change point of view and perhaps most crucially, from a people-centric point of view.
I am no stranger to change, having faced multiple rounds of redundancy in the past, and recently choosing to take redundancy to start a new path, as well as relocating to a new city.
I’ve led teams through prolonged periods of uncertainty, represented colleagues as an employee representative in Channel 4’s regional restructure 4AlltheUK, and witnessed first-hand the impact that strategic changes can have on an individual. And my training as a professional coach and change manager has taught me about what people need in order to feel safe, and what is the best environment for change.
These experiences have led me to explore the area of change and how we as humans can navigate it, both in life and in business.
For me, the answer is quite simple. Change rocks trust in a business. And maintaining (or rebuilding) that trust demands vulnerability, clear communication, consistent information and a structured timeline. It requires leaders to be fiercely human, to be brave and perhaps most importantly, to be honest.
